Development and Training
AiB ha obtained Investors in People (IiP) Gold status, a nationally recognised standard of people development. The Agency provide comprehensive training for all staff to give them the necessary tools to carry out their job to the highest standard. A training policy is embedded within AiB which sets out how training is provided to staff.
AiB has invested heavily in developing the managers and leaders of the future and, in particular, run an 'in-house' module based programme for first time line managers. This course focuses on practical outcomes rather than theory with the aim of providing managers with the knowledge required to employ best practice management skills.
The office is equipped with a learning resource centre which offers a range of self-paced e-learning opportunities for all staff.
Health and Safety
AiB regard the health and safety of the Agency and its staff as paramount. The Agency fully comply with the Scottish Government Health and Safety Policy. Health and safety issues are governed by the AiB Health & Safety Committee.
A Healthy Working Lives Group operates within the Agency to promote a wide range of topics including:
- Health promotion
- Occupational health and safety
- Health and the environment
- Mental health and well-being
- Community involvement
- Employability
AiB attained the Gold Healthy Working Lives award in 2014, the highest award attainable. This was retained throughout 2015-17 and the team is currently working towards maintaining this in 2018.
Equality
AiB is fully compliant with its obligations under the Equality Act 2010. As a main Agency of the Scottish Government, AiB contributes towards the Scottish Government's equality outcomes and mainstreaming report which is published on their website.
