Insolvency Services Provider engagement day

Insolvency Services Provider engagement day

Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) invites organisations operating within the insolvency sector to attend our upcoming provider engagement day, where we will explore future delivery options for the provision of insolvency services.

Event details

Purpose of the Session

The insolvency landscape in Scotland has shifted significantly in recent years, with reduced case volumes, lower asset levels and fewer cases generating surplus income.

To ensure our services remain effective and sustainable, AIB is reviewing its organisational structure, service delivery model and contracted provision to ensure future arrangements reflect the current and emerging environment.

Background

While case volumes have decreased, AiB will continue to require specialist insolvency services.

To shape future arrangements, we want to understand:

  • market capacity and capability
  • provider interest and appetite
  • opportunities for innovation
  • practical considerations affecting future contracting

This engagement day is intended to be open, collaborative and forward looking. It offers providers the opportunity to influence our approach before formal procurement begins.

Why should I attend?

This is your opportunity to shape the future contract, influence delivery pathways, clarify responsibilities between AiB and contracted providers and highlight opportunities for efficiency and innovation.

Your insight will be invaluable in helping us design a contract that is fair, sustainable, aligned with market realities and accessible to a range of organisations operating within the insolvency sector.

Even if your organisation has not previously tendered for AiB insolvency work, we strongly encourage you to attend. With the expectation of a smaller and evolving caseload, this requirement may be more accessible and deliverable for a wider range of providers than in previous years.

Service delivery models for consideration

AiB has developed several indicative service delivery models, each supported by an initial triage process to determine case allocation. During the session, we will invite your views on these options and any alternative or innovative approaches you may wish to propose.

Option 1

AiB retains cases with no surplus income or equity and non-co-operation cases only.

Option 2

AiB retains cases with no surplus income or equity, non co-operation cases and all contribution cases with no equity or assets.

Option 3

AiB retains cases with no surplus income or equity, non co-operation cases and all contribution cases with no equity or assets, plus a specified proportion of property cases with equity.

Option 4

AiB retains Debtor Application cases (except a small number of specialised types), with Creditor Petition cases allocated to the provider.

Option 5

All cases managed in-house, except for trading cases, complex cases or specialist tasks on demand.
