Requests for information
AiB will supply the information requested unless the material falls under specific exemptions contained in:
- the Freedom of Information Scotland Act (FOISA)
- Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations (EIRs)
- the Data Protection Act (DPA)
If you have asked for information covered under DPA, you may be asked to complete and return a form with proof of your identity before your enquiry can be considered and responded to. AiB will explain this to you and send you the form.
Appropriate information will be issued within 20 working days of receipt of request or, in the case of information requested under DPA, within one calendar month of receipt of the request and appropriate identification.
AiB will not normally charge you a fee for providing information, except where the cost of collating the information is considered excessive. In such cases, the right to charge a fee as set out in the FOI or DPA legislation is reserved and set out in the AiB Fees Order. If it is, you will be notified on that basis and asked if you still wish the information and the fee to be charged.
The AiB website contains a section on data protection including the Privacy Policy, providing information about how your personal data will be used.
