AiB Digital Strategy 2026-2030

AiB publishes a new digital strategy, setting an ambitious direction for the next five years, focusing on modern technology, high‑quality digital design, and a secure, integrated infrastructure to support an agile, user‑centred organisation

Foreword

Over the last five years, Accountant in Bankruptcy has navigated a rapidly evolving digital and socio‑economic landscape. The increasing complexity of citizens’ financial circumstances, the pace of technological change, and the escalation of cyber threats have collectively reshaped the expectations placed upon public services.

Accountant in Bankruptcy has responded to this challenge with resilience, adaptability, and ambition. As we enter the next strategic period, digital transformation is no longer an isolated programme of improvements but a core enabler of the agency’s mission.

Our ambition is to deliver digital public services that are inclusive, transparent, and resilient, while strengthening our operational capability and responsiveness to the people of Scotland. Achieving this will require leadership at every level, collaboration across the organisation, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.

This strategy sets out a bold direction for the next five years – one where modern technology, high‑quality digital design, and a secure, integrated infrastructure form the backbone of an agile, user‑centred organisation. It sets a clear path to deliver services that are simple, accessible, secure and data driven. It balances citizen experience with operational excellence – modernising platforms, strengthening cyber resilience, and building in‑house capability so we can move faster with confidence.

Delivery of the strategy is organised around ten pillars.
