Communication Strategy 2025-28

Three year strategy setting out how we will communicate effectively with all who use our services

Accessibility

The Scottish Government describes accessible digital content as being fundamental to creating an inclusive workplace and inclusive public sector for the people of Scotland. It is vital that everything we produce is accessible for everyone and nobody should be disadvantaged.

The basics of accessibility include use of colour, images, font, link text, structure, style and alternative text.

We are proud that our external website is compliant with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the 'accessibility regulations') and has received accreditation from the Shaw Trust.

We aim to ensure that all our new pieces of work are made accessible from the outset and that all teams and members of staff are aware of this requirement when developing content.

This strategy will also support our plans to:

  • encourage every business area to have an accessibility champion
  • convert existing documents and publications into an accessible format
  • create bespoke accessibility training in conjunction with our learning and development team
  • put accessibility at the heart of the AiB style guide
